I photographed the wedding of Kirsty & Jonathan last month in a small village in the beautiful Yorkshire landscape. The wedding was all about celebration & fun all day & I will certainly remember it this way!
I started the day as I always do by capturing the getting ready shots. I arrived at the couples home just as Kirsty got back from the hairstylist. Soon after we were joined by the rest of Kirsty's family including the couples son, Jamie. Jamie put on his favourite film 'The Lion King' & started to show me all his dance moves which you can see from the photographs below. You could tell he was excited for his Mum & Dad's big day already!
We then moved to the church of St Saviour's in Harden, a small & beautiful village church. I met Jonathan there who didn't appear too nervous & within ten minutes the service was under way. As you can see from the images there was lots of smiles & laughter throughout the service too! After the service, all the guests including the couple hopped onto the vintage bus & made the short journey to the reception at The Three Acres.
The venue is set upon the hills & has great views of the landscape all the way round. Kirsty had tipped me off that as the guests started to eat the wedding breakfast, a live performer would come out as a suprise. It certainly was a Freddie Mercury Tribute act called Joey Linden, jumped & stood on tables whilst belting out Queen's hit's throughout the afternoon. Everyone loved this suprise & really joined in. It made a great change for me too as normally at the wedding breakfast I just let everyone enjoy the food & I have a little break!
We then had a small portrait session with group shots & couple shots. The weather was clear but quite cold so I had to work quickly to capture everything. Once we all got warm back inside the venue then the band had set up for the evening. Kirsty & Jonathan got the dancing underway with the first dance to a Mumford & Sons song played really well by the band. After that it was everyone on the dancefloor where I stayed to capture all the action for an hour.
I had so much fun shooting this wedding & the day seemed to fly by as it was filled with laughter. Kirsty & Jonathan are a great couple & it was a pleasure to be part of the day & capture all the great moments. All the best guys & I hope your marriage is filled with more great moments!
