At the beginning of this month on Bonfire Night, I made the short trip over to Halifax to photograph the Wedding of Craig & Paola. Craig & Paola currently live in London but as Paola grew up in Yorkshire, the venue of Holdsworth House became the choice for the Wedding.

Craig, or 'Crag' as he is more well known to his friends & family!  Contacted myself a few months ago via email. With the distance between us, it wasn't until the day before the Wedding that we had a last minute Pre-Wedding meeting. I soon gathered in the first few minutes of the meeting that Craig & Paola wanted the photographs to be very much a document of the day, with no formals or poses. As you can see from the images, we managed to sneak a couple of group shots & couple shots into the day! Although this is probably the least amount of couple & posed shots Ive taken at a Wedding in all the years I have photographed! Saying that, it made a refreshing change to myself & allowed me to concentrate 100 per cent on the story of the day without a break for formals etc

The Autumn weather was very kind to us on the day giving blue skies and the crisp light I mentioned in my last post. I began by exploring and photographing the beautiful venue from various vantage points both inside & out. After that I captured the preparations of both the couple, family & friends even managing a few formal shots outdoors.

After the preparations were finished the day flowed beautifully & I will always remember this wedding for the relaxed feel & lots of laughter. Even laughter throughout the ceremony as you can see in some of my images.

After dinner I captured some really nice speeches, where the laughter continued! The staff at Holdsworth House quickly changed the room around for the evening reception where Midlands based band 'Up The Tempo', provided the entertainment. The three-piece band kept everyone on the dance floor with a mixture of new & old hits, I can really recommend them if you are looking for a band for your Wedding.

All in all a really great Wedding to photograph. Thanks Craig & Paola for choosing myself to photograph your big day & also thanks to both families, friends & staff at Holdsworth House for making me feel so welcome.

A couple of weeks ago on Bonfire Night, I photographed a beautiful wedding at the equally beautiful Holdsworth House in Halifax West Yorkshire. 

I arrived early in the afternoon to capture all the venue & details shots. The weather & the light was beautiful & crisp to work with & I took a variety of images which I have included below. I will Blog the full wedding later this week but for now I will leave you with some of my images of the venue.
